Here We Go

Well, we are really going to Boulder, Colorado the end of May. At least, that is what we are hoping for. I am searching for jobs and we are looking at housing. Andy and I have also considered the possibility of just going through PhD. Might as well get the torture overwith all at once. I have heard that those who begin graduate school married over 80% are not when they end. Scary stuff, but I have the edge. My dad got his Master's degree when I was Marcus's age and I can remember a bit of that. I hope I can be understanding and that Andy will be as stress proof as he is now.

On other fun news. For any of you that know Dave Bone, he was accepted to U of U in their GPS Masters program. He wants to be a cartographer. Our friend Kirt Wooley will be working for Channel 2, 4 or Fox upon graduation. Then, Eric Bauer is engaged and will be married this summer. To some of you this means nothing, but it is happy news I wanted to share.

I truly am happy even though sometimes my blogs don't show it. I had a fun evening. We went to Gandolfo's and had a picnic in the park. It was fun to just be a part of my family with nothing to worry about but the moment for a while. This made me realize that as long as I have them I could go anywhere and be content and happy. My world is complete with them. Hee Hee! Oh, we got family pictures taken and I will upload them as soon as we get them back. The kids are getting so big and Anneke even had her hair up in a spiky pony tail.

Boulder or Bust

Hey guys. I am back from my short Vegas trip. While there we went shopping, of course. I got some way cute skirts and a pair of capris. We actually found boots that fit Andy, too. Marcus picked out these hideous orange shoes for Andy to try on. Andy was relieved and a bit shocked when they turned out to be too big. I was again surprised when Andy picked out a two piece swimsuit for Anneke. He admitted to me that I can get him to buy "cute" things for Anneke, but it is harder for him to see boy things as cute and therefore will not buy them as readily. The rest of the trip was great. My sister got us addicted to Scrubs! She also loaned us 4 seasons of 24 and 2 seasons of CSI. So much for catching up on school work the remainder of my Spring Break. Anneke and Marcus are exhausted. Anneke slept for 3 hours and woke up 1 1/2 hours ago. She is now asleep again.

Andy got accepted to Boulder, Colorado for grad school. He is actually upset because they accepted him but did not offer him a teaching assistant-ship. This means if we do go to Colorado we will be shelling out about $24,000 a year for out of state tuition. OUCH! (With an assistant-ship there would be a tuition waiver.) It is still a matter of prayer where we are heading to school.

How does Las Vegas, New Mexico sound? (It is one of the oldest cities in North America and was around about 200 years before the one in Nevada. Incidentally the Nevada Las Vegas was supposed to be Los Vegas to differentiate. There is some interesting trivia so that everyone learns something even though it is spring break.) That actually came up this week. They sent him a letter asking him to apply and he is going to. We may just try making decisions this year and reapply next year. I am just trying to trust and be humble enough to accept God's answer for my future.

Life Goes On

(From Friendster) Andy got a rejection letter from BYU today. It shook me up more than him because I am now questioning myself. It never occurred to me that we might not get in there and we have laid a path for a future in Provo that is now not going to happen. My intuition has literally never been wrong, so now I am worried about myself. But, we have two other schools yet to hear from.

I helped make about 100 of the over 1000 cookies that Kappa Omicron Nu was making for the library celebration. Then I got to deal with festival stuff and realized that even if we stay in Cedar City, we are moving. Heather Turner took Mitzi's spot, by the way. I am tired and worn out by living here. Next week they will announce the casting decisions for Summer season.

Dang, I am having another pity party. I am trying to be happy, but I am not sure what is going on with me anymore.

On a happier note...I am going to Vegas for Spring Break and in two weeks I am getting contacts again. I get to feel cute again! I know that it is selfish and a little shallow, but I have never felt attractive wearing glasses. Maybe I am just a shallow person, Mary Kay makes me feel good, too.
