Wicked Live

Can I just say "WOW"? "Wicked" was so amazing. We were literally the second row from the back and it was still fabulous. I was disappointed by Elpheba, just because I expected so much from her. Fierro was amazing! I could easily have crushed on that guy. Andy said Glinda reminded him of a chihuahua. I thought of Melissa telling me she would love to play that character and I can totally see it. In a way I wished that I did not know the songs so well because the song "For Good" was so powerful, but I know it would have been more so otherwise. I am rambling, but it is so hard to convey the excitement. Oh, and in the playbill David Ivers and Bill Crist had random pictures, not in anything, but with directors. FUN!

Also today we met Larry the Cumcumber and Bob the Tomato. Anneke was scared of them, but finally hugged Larry when we were leaving and had no camera. She would not repeat this. Marcus said, "I know they weren't real, I saw the zippers." So much for chidlhood innocence.

Pirates 3 was better than the second. It was longer than expected, making me late for work. I was disappointed there was not more Orlando Bloom, not because he is hot, but because I like his character. Um, the ending disturbed me and I am still bothering Andy with questions and concerns about it. So, I recommend it if you liked the first Pirates of the Caribbean. (I know of no one that liked the second.)

(I know Melissa will appreciate this.) "The Little Mermaid" musical is coming to Denver theatres in August and we are thinking of taking the kids. As my boss describes it, "It's like "Lion KIng" on broadway. Only less lions, more fish." It will be Marcus's first play if we go!

Aunt Again

My sister had her baby yesterday. She got to the hospital and had her baby 25 minutes later. Her baby had not been measured 2 hours after it was born, but she weighed 6 pounds 15 ounces. The smallest grandchild so far. Heather named her Genevieve but is already calling her Evie. What's the point of having the huge long name if you will never be called that anyway?

So, a monkey at the Denver Zoo was killed by the bubonic plague. Yep, we have a plague here in Colorado. It is not effecting humans yet, just squirrels and the monkey so far. Crazy!!!

I went to see Spiderman 3 on Friday for Andy's birthday. It was pretty good, but too much had to happen. That meant I was looking at my watch trying to figure out how much time they had left to make it happen. I think I liked it better than the last one, but am not sure. This Friday we are going to see Pirates of the Caribbean 3.

Andy's family is also coming on Sunday and staying for a few days, so that should be interesting in our tiny apartment. I found out I can get "hotel" rooms on the top floor of my apartment building for like $10 a night, but they are already booked for the weekend.

Congratulations Holly! My address is 2300 Arapahoe Ave #329 Boulder, CO 80302

Big Brother

Andy is done for the semester!!! I helped him grade tests last night and had a good laugh a few times. The blond sorority girl was so stereotypical it was scary. The answers were not incorrect, just funny.

Anneke and Marcus both had helium balloons the other night. Anneke's actually got free of the string and Anneke was sad, but was excited that her balloon was going on a trip. When we were getting in the car I heard Marcus say, "It isn't fair that I have one." and he let the balloon go off his string. I cried and then he cried saying, "I felt bad." I realized that is what a big brother would do. Then I asked Andy if he was that kind of big brother, and he could not remember, but he hoped so.

Anneke is fascinated by babies. One day recently she stood next to a lady holding a baby and kept saying, "Scuse me, it's my turn." Luckily, the woman did not hear. I told Anneke when my baby comes out she can hold it. Everyday she asks when she will get to hold my baby. The next months are going to be long with that question every few days.

Yesterday I went to a restaurant called "Zolos". It is a new age TexMex type place. It was a staff appreciation lunch, do I was not paying. They had roast duck on the menu, real buffalo burgers, and I chose Wild Boar Tamales. Andy laughed at me. He said the type of animal it is will indicate if the meat will be tender. This meat was not! Actually, that was not my problem with it. There was a sweet, spicy cinnamon type sauce on the top that was not appetizing. I thought maybe it was being pregnant that caused it, so I had people around me try it and they did not like it. The quacamole was yummy, so I I had chips, guacamole and cranberry lemonade for lunch yesterday.

It's May

Have you guys found yourselves singing that song from Camelot? I have. The children in my class think that I am nuts, but it is fun to sing random show tunes. (Only 24 days until I get to see Wicked.) When my co-worker got married I played a song from My Fair Lady. If you can't figure out which, I pity you.

So, I finally made my first OB GYN appointment. I asked how much it would cost. Just that first appointment is $800!!! I need to figure out insurance and fast. I almost had an anxiety attack. Speaking of baby stuff, I have settled on a boy name. It means "handsome" in Irish.

Andy is stressing out, making the rest of the family stressed. Anneke and Marcus are getting up at around six each morning, which translates into being tired at school. I have no idea how to fix it. I think it is all related to stress, stress, stress!

My boss basically gave me an ultimatum. I work 5 afternoons a week instead of the 2 1/2 days I had planned or find a new job. I am considering quitting after June now. I was taking the month of July off so that Andy could go to Oxford and then returning for like 2 weeks. It makes more sense just to cut ties, but I am worried about how we will do financially. We are saving money, but it goes fast when you have nothing better to do than spend it. UGH!

Mary Kay is going pretty well for me. I brought in my catalog and my co teacher ordered about $100 worth, then my boss ordered a set and another teacher wants some samples to try. It is so fun! I am excited. My new boss buys "the pink stuff" for her feet like once a month, so I need to stock up. She does not understand moderation. I am not planning on making a whole lot of money, but it feels good to help others feel better about themselves.

So, congratulations to Holly and Nate on graduation. good Luck! (I feel like I just write to Melissa and even then it is hit or miss.)
