Photos of the birthday boy

I deleted a few posts that were just videos and I can post a pictures again. My oldest turned 11 this month. We had a small celebration. Marcus had 2 birthday parties in one year so he didn't have one this year. I feel like it was too small. I really like to celebrate my children. He didn't seem to mind, but he wouldn't say anything if he dud.

He is currently saving his money for our Disneyland trip. If he has any extra he will probably spend it all on Skylanders Giants figures for the Wii.

Marcus got a bunch of Skylanders and a Webkinz from Grandma and Grandpa. As soon as we have time we will get all his Scout stuff. He gets his Arrow of Light next week and I won't have a Cub Scout again for 3 years.
He, of course, had a Reese's cake. We only had 10 candles, so he got 1 and 1 candles because it makes 11.
Practically, since we moved here we have been close with one family. They moved across town but we still had play dates. Recently their dad got a job in Utah and they are moving this month. It is a very sad time for us. But, we will never forget them and will see them again, for sure. Good luck, Morris family!

Annekeisms

I have not had an Annekeism in a while. She is getting older and they happen less and less. It is bittersweet like many things in life. Lately though, she has had a number of moments to share.

While in the tub the other day she was yelling because the was water was to "shawell". I went in there and figured out that she meant shallow. (I also figured out that if it is not almost overflowing it is "shawell".)

Monday as we were leaving the house for school she pulled out a play rehearsal schedule and her lunch box with all the plastic containers still in it. They had been sitting in there for 18 days. Then, on Tuesday she excitedly told me she had found the shoe we had been looking for A LOT over Christmas break. It was also in her backpack along with some dirty socks. Yesterday just after breakfast she reached into her coat pocket and pulled out a cute gingerbread girl with her own face glued on (actually, that part was kind of creepy looking) and said, "Oh, I was supposed to give this to you for Christmas." *sigh* My little girl makes me laugh and sigh a lot. I am not sure what to do with her sometimes.
