Phone photos

Sometimes the only camera I have handy is my phone. It takes some good and some bad photos. Here are some from this summer.

Anneke made a huge tower at Barnes and Noble and asked me to take a photo.

 We realized that Luke needs GOOD physical activity every day or he gets cranky. Just before Andy was released from the Bishopric he used his keys for a Nerf gun war in the Cultural Hall. (A few days later he turned those keys in.)

 They had a talent show in primary one Sunday. Anneke dressed everyone for it. They sang "Children All Over the World". Anneke was from Mexico, Mallory Japan and Luke France.

 I got some other 4th of July photos, but they are pretty dark. This was the best with the added light.

 For Anneke's birthday we went to Metro Pizza one last time. She got a birthday sundae that she shared with her siblings.

Andy has a new sister-in-law and niece. Zack eloped and got married on the beach in California last weekend.

Being Old

Friday we left in plenty of time to get to Ephraim and see some of the Scandinavian Festival. However, we had a flat tire on the freeway in North Las Vegas and ended up leaving 3 hours later than expected. We had the great idea of having a picnic lunch on the way, but ended up having a "picnic" in the car instead. At least we didn't have to stop, though. We arrived about an hour before graduation.

I saw a lot of old friends and caught up with a few. I walked in the rainy weather without a coat. I reminisced with my husband and then we turned around Saturday morning and came home.

Zack always strikes me as too serious, so I like this picture of my brother-in-law. (Zackary is the one on the left.)

I asked for a picture with the five of us. Apparently 5+3=5. (Not a bad pic of me.)

All too soon, my dear.

Trying to be helpful I convinced Zack to leave his diploma cover with me so he could get pictures unhindered by an awkward rectangle. Luke decided to chew on it. (That was odd because he hasn't done it in a while. You can see his attraction to said cover in the group shot above.) Rather than have baby molar marks on it I gave it to my MIL. Now, I love my mother-in-law, but she can be scattered. When we got back to the house she had no idea where the diploma cover was or any recollection that I gave it to her. I felt horrible. Helpful Heidi was not so helpful. I apologized to Zack, but he didn't really believe me that it was lost. "I didn't think you would do that." Luckily it was found and it all ended happily. *Sigh* I had better keep track of my responsibilities on my own next time.

Eagle Scouts

The reason for our trip happened on Sunday between sessions of Conference. (Wasn't Conference amazing by the way? I kind of wish we could have it every 4 months or even 3 months. Anyway...) Two of Andy's brothers had their Eagle Scout court of honor. Zack (18) completed his in October and Brian (15) in January. Andy used to be able to boast he was the youngest Eagle in the family, but not anymore. Congratulations to the Bahlmann's. They now have 5 out of 6 boys that are Eagles and Michael is only 9. When they cut the cake Michael wanted the eagle head (see yesterday's post) because he will be the next Eagle scout. Brian lovingly pointed out that Marcus could beat him. Now, Marcus wants to try and do just that.

Luke felt very proud wearing Daddy's sash. He was very funny walking around with it and showing off. I know nothing about Scouts despite the fact that my dad was in the organization for years. But, I think 28 badges is really good. I am kind of excited for Marcus to start Cub Scouts next year.

Andy presented an Order of the Arrow thing. He was all decked out. Luke liked to sit with him I think because he had cool things to play with. However, he may have just been tired and wanted Daddy to put him to sleep. That is what this photo looks like.
